People Get Stuck
People get stuck in their grief
Muddled with pain and disbelief
Clouded vision
Caused by a broken heart
Never wanting to be back at the start
People get stuck in quicksands of cloaked hurt
Sinking deeper into the dirt
Some cry out, but no one hears
Losing stamina to face the fears
People get stuck in self-blame
Only multiplying the pain
Until it hurts so bad
That suicide seems like a fun fad
People get caught in the rain
Watching never-ending water drip down the window paneÂ
Not even knowing their own lane
A lane that can become a life-saving path
A road that rescues you from your own wrath
People get stuck in the blame, in the pain, in the rain
Their heartbeat growing too tame
People get stuck in the houses of mental anguish
Lost in a labyrinth of despair
Have you ever been there?
People can always escape when they get stuck
Anyone has the power to RISE above the muck
Perhaps this won’t happen overnight
But god, is it worth the fight
You will look back and say to yourself, thank God I survived my darkest nightÂ
