Self-love

Self-love Is

Self-love is a multidimensional practice of discovery and action. Loving yourself can mean so many different things. I wanted to share some of my thoughts on what self-love is.

Self-love is honoring yourself the most you can. It includes respecting your values, beliefs, and feelings. It’s loving yourself so much that when another can’t, it doesn’t take away from your sense of worth.

We have to live with ourselves every day. Don’t you want to live with someone who’s your best friend rather than your worst enemy?

I know all about self-sabotaging, but perhaps that is a topic for a self-sabotaging blog I should set up on the dark web (just kidding). Or am I?

Anyways, self-love is tricky to explain at times. But through this blog, I intend to divulge it to the very best of my understanding with the hopes of helping even just one person out there.

To maybe keep things in perspective, we are floating in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy on a rock. The closest galaxy to us is M31, also known as Andromeda. Isn’t that one of the coolest names you’ve ever heard? It’s about 2.5 million light-years away.

I’m not sure what that fun tidbit has to do with self-love other than the fact that it’s mind-blowing to me realizing the essence of the universe that surrounds us and that we seem so small in comparison.

However, love seems to be an astronomical force in itself.

So, my fellow Milky Way babes, let’s be smashing and love up on ourselves and each other!

*the word smashing didn’t age well @ all. I’m an elder millennial and was thinking of Austin Power’s definition of smashing. Ugh. I considered taking smashing out all together.*

One time on a dating app a guy opened with, “So when we smashing?” I’m not sure if he was being serious but the scary part is, I think he was. Anyway,

Self-love is . . .

Self-love is revolutionary.

Stop the war against yourself! Start a revolution and commit to loving yourself like no one’s watching!
