Self-love

What’s Your Self-love Resolution?

If you’re reading this, give yourself a pat on the back because you made it through another year! GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT for all the things you’ve accomplished and DON’T BEAT YOURSELF UP if this year was tough for you. 2020 was a challenging year for many of us. I sincerely hope you faired okay through a trying year! Aside from a particularly difficult time, it’s NEVER too late to start fresh with self-love. What’s your self-love resolution for the new year!?

Your self-love resolution could be so many things. Maybe you want to lose weight like everyone else on this side of the Milky Way. Perhaps you want to gain weight or muscle. Maybe you’d like to quiet a harsh inner critic, or maybe you want to leave toxic people or behaviors in the past where they belong. The list of self-love resolutions could go on forever! So there’s no excuse for not coming up with at least one! Tsk, tsk.

Whatever your self-love resolution may be, I strongly encourage you to stick with it past January. It’s all too common for people to get hung up on a new years resolution because it sounds like a great idea and then let it fall by the wayside once the novelty of the new year wears off.

However, I still think that a new years resolution is a great idea, and should be given the full effort it deserves! The resolution is usually something that will enhance your quality of life, so why not seriously commit to that? And who says we can’t have a new years resolution and a self-love resolution!?

Please don’t give up on your self-love resolution when it gets challenging. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but self-love isn’t easy. Self-love is arduous but it is without a doubt, worthy of every ounce of effort. We’re talking about elevating the star of your solar system here, you!

Maybe one week you’ll royally suck with your self-love resolution but the next week, you start making progress. At least you sucked with royal style! Any progress is PROGRESS, period, no matter how small it may seem! Keep winning the small victories and trust that your efforts will pay off. Believe in yourself and get wholeheartedly dedicated to loving yourself so passionately that you can’t even imagine going back to the days when you didn’t!

I strongly encourage you to think about what you’d like your self-love resolution to be. Here are a few examples of self-love resolutions to stimulate your self-love mojo for the new year and beyond. (Feel free to peruse 5 Ways to Begin Loving Yourself if you need to start from scratch.)

1. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS

2. Put an end to negative self-talk

3. Make time for you and only you. Use this time as your sacred space to relax, regroup, and recharge!

4. Create a small goal and build upon it as you make progress

5. Work on not caring what others think of you

6. Live your truth

7. Do something that scares you

8. Don’t give others more energy than you receive. You won’t have to force a true connection. Have faith that you’ll find the ones meant to be in your life and the bonds will form naturally.

9. Speak up for yourself in an effective but assertive, calm, and controlled way

Furthermore, don’t obtain a gym membership and stop going in February. Find a form of movement that inspires you, that way it will be easier for you to stick to your workouts. If you hate running or jogging, there are plenty of other ways to sneak in some cardio. And don’t skip weight training! You can definitely get strong and fierce without becoming too bulky! If someone breaks into your car for the second time in a row because your car was unlocked, attend a kickboxing class and viciously punch that air, yeahhhh, alrighttt… ! I didn’t do that, just a random thought.

I have full faith that you will prosper in the success of your personal self-love resolutions this new year and for many years to come!

What’s your self-love resolution this year? What’s the first step you can take toward your self-love resolution?

Let me know!

And don’t ever forget, that you’re worthy of love in all forms, especially the mother of all loves, self-love!

XoXo,

Mandy
