I Love Corona Not the Virus
Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, has taken the world by storm this March. And just in case the title wasn’t clear, I love Corona, as in the Mexican beer that reminds me of limes, the beach, and feeling super refreshed. The virus can go f*ck itself.
In early March, I went out into Manhattan for my birthday to one of my favorite bars that I wouldn’t even dream of visiting right now and then to a club to see DJ Pauly D. I enjoyed myself, and I hope all of the awesome friends who joined me did as well.
I know one of my friends enjoyed themselves a whole lot. You know who you are… *wink, wink.*
Yet after that birthday celebration weekend, the virus took a severe turn.
If my birthday were the following weekend, I would’ve canceled any celebration (my birthday is March 7th).
I want to send love to all during Coronavirus 2020!!!
Everyone worldwide is in my thoughts and prayers (not just old people and people with f*cked up immune systems).
I realize self-love may not be high up on the radar for most people during this time. People are worried about their health and the health of their loved ones, their jobs, the state of the world, adequate resources, and their sanity. I understand.
So I just wanted to remind everyone to stay as calm as possible. I get the panic, but if we all panic, we are just going to make the issues worse.
Let’s all take a deep breath together and think about things logically so that we can take on this sh*t the best we can.
Don’t discount all the love and beauty still surrounding us.
China, bless up!
Italy, blessings, love, and so many prayers to you!
The United States, we got this baby!
All other countries that I didn’t mention and are suffering, much love and, prayers to you as well!
I realized the severity of COVID-19 (the apparent highbrow way of saying Coronavirus) once I kept hearing the townspeople speak of it and realizing that they weren’t talking about Corona, the beer that people pollute with lime and drunken times.
It was during those moments that I felt simultaneously dumb and a tiny bit concerned.
“Corona? Damn, I knew people like Coronas but wtf. Hmm, I don’t know that comment didn’t really make sense talking about the beer. Lmao, you dumba$$, it’s COVID-19, not Corona, you drunk f*ck,” I’d say to myself.
So, as I was saying, I love Corona, the beer, not the virus!!!
I didn’t always have an affinity for this light and refreshing Mexican beer, but I’ve grown quite fond of it recently. It’s pretty sweet. So perhaps, grab a Corona, squeeze in a fresh lime wedge, and get twisted or just refreshed.
